Description

Workplace safety is everyone's responsibility. In California, Cal/OSHA requires every employer to establish, implement and maintain an effective, written Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) under Title 8, California Code of Regulations, Section 3203. This course explains the key requirements of an effective IIPP and the eight required elements of the program, and clarifies the responsibilities of employers, supervisors and employees.

Through practical California workplace examples, scenarios and interactive activities, learners see how workplace inspections, incident investigations, hazard correction and safety training help prevent injuries and illnesses. By the end of the course, learners will understand their role in supporting a safer workplace, know how to report a hazard without fear of reprisal, and know how to access their employer's IIPP.
